small modern living blog - updating our 1970’s home to scandanavian modern

I still remember the moment my husband suggested we buy a fixer-upper - My eyes looked back at him with a questioning stare. We found a 1970’s home in a dream location - It was surrounded by a pond and wetland, close to a quaint downtown. We both could envision the potential and understood it would be a lot of work. In the last two years we have repainted the interior/exterior and completely demolished and repoured our concrete sidewalk. Our home is in a constant state of remodeling. The progress seems slow, mainly because of our parenthood demands. Sometimes I am sad thinking about our modern home we left in the city, but then I hear the trumpeter swans, the ducks next to our house, and feel reassured that this was a good investment and decision to expand our investment portfolio. I can also pretend to be JoAnna Gaines for a moment while I wait patiently to see this home come alive, to see what dreams may come.
